Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong

There’s something about a plastic surgery gone wrong that captures or attention like a horrible car accident on the side of the road, we know it’s gruesome and horrific, but we can’t seem to look away. Plastic surgery gone wrong is both a source of terrible amusement and extremely thankful relief that you weren’t the one who had the plastic surgery gone wrong. It’s a sad state to find amusement from the tragedies of others, but maybe we can gain a general sense of warning and caution between the botched surgeries and disjointed views of what is attractive to some people.

  1. Michael Jackson – He may be the most well known and publicized celebrity figure who had plastic surgery gone wrong. Once upon a time he was a sweet boy who enchanted us with his soulful voice, but as the years went by he began going under the knife for plastic surgery, one after the other, trying to change his body to the image he so desperately desired. He changed his skin color, adjusted his eyes, eyebrows, lips, chin and most notably, his nose. His nose was the most talked about when it came to plastic surgery gone wrong; a weirdly disjointed and horrifying look at what too many plastic surgeries could do to a human nose. By the end he looked nothing like the “Beat It” star of days gone by when he became an integral part of America’s music history.

  2. Hang Mioku – Ms. Mioku’s story is a warning for caution if ever there was one for plastic surgery gone wrong. Hang Mioku repeatedly received plastic surgeries over the course of several years until she reached a point when plastic surgeons refused to work on her anymore. In a bid to continue her journey to perfection, Ms. Mioku found a questionable plastic surgeon that not only gave her massive collagen injections, but gave her a “home injection kit” to inject collagen herself. When Hang ran out of collagen she chose to inject herself, for an unfathomable reason, with cooking oil to continue the “youthful” look that collagen gave her. What resulted was something that changed her face to a nearly unrecognizable state that will never go away.

  3. Jocelyn Wildenstein – This wealthy socialite began receiving plastic surgery procedures in her early 30s to get a more feline appearance after her husband showed an affinity for exotic animals and “big cats”. For most, her reasoning behind the plastic surgeries is met with shock and horror, and considering her husband later was caught in an affair with another woman and divorced Jocelyn Wildenstein, the extreme plastic surgery gone wrong seems even more horrifyingly astounding. Wildenstein has been known as the “cat woman” and “the bride of Wildenstein” for herself into a human cat that has a startling resemblance to “The Beast” in the 1980’s TV show “Beauty and the Beast.”

The sad truth is that we all see something in ourselves that we don’t like, whether it’s eyes that are too big, ear that stick out too much, legs that have a little too much cellulite on them or something a little more significant. But, for the most part we adapt and those features become a part of use, flaws and all. However, some people are unable or unwilling to keep those “flaws” and in a bid to fix them become even more imperfect through the obsessive need to be perfect. It’s an example of the caution that we should all take we considering plastic surgery, because for all we know we could be one of those who goes too far and lands on the list of examples of plastic surgery gone wrong.
